3 septembre 1847 – Victor Hugo
French poetry is an important part of French literature. Poetry is a way to express authenticity of its emotions through the lyric register. In Les Contemplations written by Victor Hugo, the death of Leopoldine inspires happy reminiscences and painful cries of despair. On the eve of the fourth anniversary of the accident, he wrote three verses with a harmonious simplicity and a touching lyricism. With a determination that does not exclude emotion or imagination, he described in advance the path that will lead him to his beloved child. But the magic of images, rhythms and by the charm of a poetic language, this journey dedicated to the memory for his daughter takes the form of a love poem of celebration. Victor Hugo illustrates very well the power of poetry.
