Terms and conditions
The French As You Like It team will make sure you will feel comfortable and enjoy your French classes. If you have specific needs, please let us know and we will do our best to meet your requirements and give you all the help you need.
Payments and cancellations
To book a private class or reserve a spot in our group classes it’s necessary to pay a deposit of at least 50% of your initial course fees in advance, with the remaining 50% due once you’ve started your classes.
Once you’ve made the deposit, we’ll reserve your teacher or your placement in our classes and you’ll receive a confirmation email. We’ll then get in touch to introduce you to your teacher, confirm your lesson schedule and location.
You may pay by credit card or bank transfer online.
You can also pay by cheque payable in euros, cash, or credit card at the school reception, at least 48h prior to your class.
Students can exchange their course for a course of similar value. Students who choose to exchange their original choice of course for one of greater value must pay the difference between the two, at the time of requesting the upgrade. Students may also transfer any French lesson credit to a friend or family member if they are unable to use their credit personally within the 12-month timeframe of the contract.
Duration of Contract
Each contract shall set the terms of the French course, including start and end dates, rates and schedule. All contracts expire 1 year after the date of your first lesson, except for evening classes. After 1 year the student is not eligible to receive a refund for any remaining lessons. FAYLI reserves the right to cancel a course, to offer alternative dates or venues, and to make changes to course arrangements as required. For evening classes, if you buy a 6-week package, it will expire 3 months after your first class and a 12-week package it will expire 6 months after your first class.
Lesson Cancellation & Rescheduling
Student cancellation or rescheduling of a French class is accepted without penalty if made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time. If cancellation or rescheduling request is received within less than 24 hours, the student will be charged at the regular rate.
Late Enrollment
There is no final registration date for group courses or private lessons. However, it is advisable to book at least 3 weeks before the course’s starting date to ensure your spot, especially for group classes due to the limited number of students per class.
Punctuality
If your teacher is delayed and arrives late for a lesson, the time lost will be added to the end of the lesson or to the following lesson. If you are delayed, your teacher will wait for you for 20 minutes from the scheduled start time. We will try to contact you but if you haven’t arrived within this time, the lesson will be missed and unfortunately cannot be refunded.
Class Expenses
Private French lessons are sometimes given in cafés or other exhibition, museums around Paris. When applicable the student will pay for both his and the teacher’s expenses.
