Privacy & Cookies Policy
Last updated: 1 July 2026
French As You Like It (FAYLI) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
This website, frenchasyoulikeit.com, is operated by French As You Like It (FAYLI), a French language school located at 23 Rue du Petit Musc, 75004 Paris, France. For any question about this policy or your personal data, contact us at [email protected] or +33 (0)1 85 09 90 14. FAYLI is the data controller for the personal data processed through this website.
What data we collect
We only collect the data we need to answer you and to provide our courses and services:
- Contact & enquiry data — your name, email address, phone number and the message or course interest you send us through our contact, enquiry or level-test forms.
- Enrolment data — the information needed to register you for a course, arrange accommodation or administrative support, or issue documents for a visa application.
- Newsletter data — your email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter, and whether you asked us about accommodation.
- Technical data — anonymised usage statistics and cookie data (see “Cookies” below).
How we use your data
We process your personal data to:
- respond to your enquiries and provide the information you request;
- register and deliver the courses and services you book with us;
- provide student services such as accommodation and administrative or visa support;
- send you our newsletter, where you have opted in;
- meet our legal, accounting and accreditation obligations.
Legal basis
Depending on the case, we rely on your consent (for example, the newsletter), the performance of a contract (enrolment and student services), our legitimate interest in running and improving the school, and legal obligations (such as accounting records).
How long we keep it
We keep your data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, and for the periods required by law. Enquiry data is kept for up to three years from our last contact; contractual and accounting records are kept for the legal retention periods. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see “Your rights”).
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run the school — for example our email/newsletter provider, hosting provider and payment processor — and only to the extent needed to provide their service. Where the law requires it, we may also disclose data to public authorities.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies to make the site work, and — with your consent — measurement cookies to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. You can accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and you can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. Refusing non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to use the site.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to processing;
- data portability;
- withdraw your consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Please check back occasionally for any changes.
