Since August 9, the health pass called Pass sanitaire is mandatory in France.
It aims at limiting the risks of epidemics spreading to minimize the probability of contamination in risky situations, and release the pressure on the health care system. All this to keep certain activities or locations open in addition to the health protection measure specific to each sector.
What is a « Passe sanitaire » ?
The “health pass” consists of the presentation of a QR code proving that :
➣ you’ve been vaccinated against the Covid-19 or
➣ you tested negative to RT-PCR or antigenic test result within less than 72 hours or
➣ you tested positive to RT-PCR or antigenic test attesting to the recovery from Covid-19, at least 11 days old and less than 6 months

In which countries does the pass sanitaire work ?
It is valid in all countries of the European Union without exception.
How about the citizens from the European Union ?Â
If you have been vaccinated in a member country of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, United Kingdom (England and Wales only), Switzerland, the digital Covid certificate issued to you is accepted in France.
How about the non-European citizens ?

I did my test or my vaccine in France, how can I get my QR code ?Â
If you have a vaccination certificate, a negative test or a positif test, simply scan or take a picture of the QR code to import and store it into your phone.
Otherwise you can download the TousAntiCovid application (available on Android 5.0 and iOS 11.4) and click on « Ouvrir mon carnet » then « Ajouter un certificat », scan your QR code and voilà you have your French pass sanitaire 🙂Â
How long is a negative PCR or antigenic test valid for ?
A negative PCR and antigenic test result must be less than 72 hours old to be valid.
How does the Health Pass work for travel ?
If you have a document proving that you have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or have a negative test or have recovered from Covid-19, you may travel. Note that some countries have specific requirements, check : Â Â https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/
Is the Health Pass required for public transport ?Â
No, it will not be required in the metro, bus, tramway, RER, TER and Transiliens. The obligation of the health pass concerns the domestic flights, TGV (high-speed train), Intercity and night trains.
What are the penalties for the Health Pass ?Â
Presenting a health pass belonging to someone else or offering to use someone else’s pass is subject a fine of 135 euros for a first offense and 200 euros for a second offense. The penalty can go up to six months imprisonment and a fine of 3,750 euros for three offences in less than 30 days, accompanied by a community service sentence or a suspension of the driving license.Â
